Musical Production “Kidd Diamond and the Devil” to Staff Nearly 100 Memphis Cast & Crew Members

MEMPHIS, TENN. - (October 29, 2012) - PRESS EVENT SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1 TO ANNOUNCE LOCAL PRODUCTION OF BLUES MUSICAL

WHO: MVP3 Entertainment Group (MVP3) CEO Marie Pizano and writer/director Daniel Martine will announce the details of blues musical “Kidd Diamond and the Devil,” a local production slated to create close to 100 cast and crew positions for Memphis film and entertainment professionals. Special guests in attendance include lead actor Travis Stone who plays the role of Kidd Diamond, actor Jackie Murray who plays Kidd's mother, and designer of the production’s artwork Michael P. Maness.

WHAT: The upcoming production of “Kidd Diamond and the Devil,” is a modern retelling of the legendary ‘Crossroads,’ an infamous tale that featured Robert Johnson selling his soul to the Devil at a lonely Delta crossroads. The homegrown ‘bluesical’ will break new ground in musical theatre and establish Memphis as an appealing location for film producers.

“We are excited to produce Kidd Diamond and the Devil produced in Memphis, and the soundtrack will be recorded here,” said Marie Pizano, CEO of MVP3. “This production is an important milestone in our commitment to highlight and attract talent to Memphis, and develop a production economy for the entertainment industry here.”

MVP3 has an additional slate of films to be produced in the South. Plans for a film adaption of “Kidd Diamond and the Devil” are tentatively scheduled to start in 2014.
